Mondays

9:00am-10:00am: Stretch/Fitness DVD. On Mondays this group focuses specifically on gentle stretching. Everyone welcome.

9:00am-9:30am: Tai Ji Sword Practice. Instructor: Sandy Brewer.

9:30am—10:30am: Basic Tai Ji. This hour class is for beginners. Class

11:00am-12:00noon: Healthy Weight Support Group. Do you need to GAIN, LOSE or MAINTAIN weight and would like some support?

12:30pm-3:00pm: Mahjong. Come join the fun! No experience necessary, everyone is welcome

1:00pm-4:00pm: Painting.

1:30pm-2:30pm: Memory Loss Support Group. October 1.

Wednesdays

8:00am-4:00pm: Pool Hall/Billiards.

8:30am-9:30am: Tai Ji Fan. Enjoy learning Tai Ji movements using the fan to display the slow version of what had once had been martial arts moves. There are several routines, all of which exercise the whole body and mind along within musical cues.

9:00am-10:00am: Stretch/Fitness DVD. On Wednesdays this group focuses specifically on the Strength DVD. Everyone welcome.

10:00-11:00: Wii Bowling. This Nintendo game uses the Wii remote to mimic actions performed in real-life bowling. It's a great way to have fun with your friends. Everyone is welcome.

10:00am-11:30am: Rodney's Holler Rehearsal. Closed Practice Session for The Rodney's Holler Bluegrass Touring Group.

1:00pm-3:00pm: Pinochle. Meets in the library, a fun and lively group.

2:00pm - 4:00pm: Ping Pong

Thursdays

9:30am-10:30am: Dolly's Stretch Exercise (DVD). Join us for this popular stretching class—standing or chair. It’s easy and fun!

10:30am-11:30am: Crafting. All are welcome. Quilting, knitting, whittling, painting, embroidery, crochet, tatting etc. Men and women are both welcome to come exchange ideas, visit, trade patterns, start and finish projects and just hang out.

11:00am: Blood Pressure Check. The Blaine Fire Department checks blood pressure.

12:00pm-3:00pm: Bridge. Just for fun and open to all levels of experience! Learn or re-learn and start playing again in a relaxed and fun group!

4:00pm-5:00pm: Tai Ji Balance: This one hour session includes a thorough warmup followed by exercises designed to strengthen the legs and improve coordination in the whole body and mind along with musical cues. $3 for Non-Members.

5:00pm-6:00pm: Advanced Tai Ji. After a Good warm up, you will learn routines with names like "Sixteen Form", Twenty-Four Form and more. These incorporate movements similar to the "Eight Form" we do on Monday, and with emphasis on new new movements and longer routines. Besides extending the time spent during a routine, the brain is challenged to remember longer sequences. $3 for Non-Members.

6:00pm to whenever: Pinochle.

9:00am-10:00am: Stretch/ Fitness DVDs. On Fridays this group focuses specifically on the Yoga DVD. Everyone welcome.

10:00am-11:00am: Bible Study. Bring your Bible and share insights with each other.

10:00am-11:00am: Chair Pilates.

12:30pm-1:30pm: Bingo. Come play bingo with us. Donated prizes welcome!

3:00pm-4:00pm: Strength Training.

9:30am - whenever: Blaine Senior Center Rod's Bluegrass Jammers!

Everyone welcome to come join in with your instrument or just come to enjoy the music! This group is very informal and usually practices on Saturdays when no other event is going on.

Strength Training Room

The gym is open from 8:00am-4:00pm Monday thru Friday and Saturdays 9:00am-1:00pm. All those who use the gym must be a current member and have taken the Strength Training class offered at specific senior centers throughout the county. Please do not use the strength training equipment when the training class is in session.

Classes are between 3-5 pm. Please contact the office for the current class schedule!

Strength Training Class:

This 6-week class will meet Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. $60 class fee. 

Preregistration, membership at the Blaine Senior Center and a medical release are required. Come sign up in the Main Office! The class will fill quickly.

Make-up classes may be scheduled with the Instructor, there will be a charge depending on the time you need.

Tuesdays 7:30pm-8:30pm

Each month features a different dance style.

$50 per person for 4 week class or $13 drop in.

ZUMBA in the Circuit (Blaine Pavilion)

Wednesdays 9:00am-10:00am

Warm up with Zumba Latin dance moves. The class then alternates between dance tracks and choreographed condiction tracks of the various muscle groups: biceps, triceps, core, and lower body (squats, lunges) all to Zumba's Latin inspired music.

Gentle Yoga For Seniors (Blaine Pavilion)

Maureen has been teaching yoga locally for over 9 years. Her main goal in this field is to help others breathe more fully, increase their balance and flexibility and reduce levels of stress in their lives. She is also an acupressure practitioner (for both 2 and 4-leggeds), sound healing therapist and meditation instructor. Sponsored by Blaine-Birch Bay Park and Recreation District. $5 drop in fee.

ZUMBA Fitness (Blaine Pavilion)

NEW CLASS

Tai Ji (Blaine Pavilion)

Saturdays 8:00am-10:00am

The first hour is Tai Ji Sword which combines Tai Ji movements with slow moving sword positions. This exercise improves balance as well as challenging the performer to learn multiple hand, arm, leg and foot position.

The second hour is practice in Tai Ji routines beyond the basic 8 form sequence. The routines are longer and combine progressively more intricate movements. The objective is to improve coordination for the body and provide stimulating learning experiences for the brain.

$5 drop-in fee.
