Schedule of Ongoing Activities

Mondays

8:00am—4:00pm: Ping Pong or Pool (shared). Come check out our terrific pool room. If you would like to play Ping Pong, please see the ladies in the office for help. Everyone is welcome.

9:00am—9:30am:  Tai Chi Sword Practice. Instructor:  Sandy Brewer.

9:30am—10:30am: Taiji Quigong Class (Tai Chi).
Practice basic Taiji and Quigong.  Helps to improve the condition of your whole body especially good for arthritis. Instructors: Guo Cheng and Sandy Brewer.

                                      

12:30pm-2:00:  Pinochle (single deck).

1:30pm: Monthly Movie Matinee. August 20th.
Join us for "The Bucket List".  Popcorn provided.

3:00pm-4:00pm or 4:00pm--5:00pm:  Strength Training

Tuesdays

8:00am—4:00pm:  Pool Hall/BilliardsCome check out our terrific pool room. We have cues and expert  players who will help you learn. Everyone Welcome.

9:00am-11:30am: Foot Clinic. Meets 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month. Sign up at front desk. There is a $25 fee paid to the provider.

9:30am- 10:30am: Stretch Exercise. Join us for this popular stretching class. It’s easy and fun!  Instructor:  Lucy Donaldson

11:00am—12:00noon: Healthy Weight Support Group. Do you need to GAIN, LOSE or MAINTAIN weight and would like some support?


12:30pm-3:00pm:  Mahjong. Come join the fun with this new group!  No experience necessary, everyone is welcome


1:00pm-4:00pm: Painting Class. $5 per class. Instructor:  Maxine Reynolds.

1:30pm - 3:00pm - BUG.  Blaine Ukulele Group. 




Wednesdays

8am-4pm:  Pool Hall/Billiards.

10:00am-Noon: Massage (NEW)

9:30am-10:30am: Various stretch/fitness DVDs.

9:30am-10:30am: Dolly's Stretch Exercise (DVD). Join us for this popular stretching class—standing or chair. It’s easy and fun!

10:30am-11:30am: Crafting.  All are welcome. Quilting, knitting, whittling, painting, embroidery, crochet, tatting etc.  Men and women are both welcome to come exchange ideas, visit, trade patterns, start and finish projects and just hang out.

11:00am: Blood Pressure Check.  The Blaine Fire Department checks blood pressure.

12:00pm-3:00pm:  Bridge. Just for fun and open to all levels of experience! Learn or re-learn and start playing again in a relaxed and fun group!

Mahjong day changed to Tuesdays!!!

6 pm to whenever: Pinochle.

11:30am-12:30pm: Birthday Lunch  August 30th, 2018.
Come celebrate our March birthdays. Cake provided by Orchard Park Retirement. Music by the Hometowners!

9:30am - whenever:  Blaine Senior Center Jammers!
Everyone welcome to come join in with your instrument or just come to enjoy the music!  This group is very informal and usually practices on Saturdays when no other event is going on.

Strength Training Room
The gym is open from 8-4 Monday thru Friday and Saturdays 9-1.  All those who use the gym must be a current member and have taken the Strength Training class offered at specific senior centers throughout the county. Please do not use the strength training equipment when the training class is in session.

Classes are between 3-5 pm.  Please contact the office for the current class schedule!  

The next Strength Training Classes starts
Monday, September 24th, 2018 3pm & 4pm
This 6-week class will meet Mondays, Wednesdays and the first four Fridays of the class.  $60 class fee. Preregistration, membership at the Blaine Senior Center and  a medical release are required.  You must be a current member to sign up. Must be a minimum of 50 years young to join.  Come sign up and pay now! The class will fill quickly.

Make-up classes may be scheduled...there will be a charge depending on the time you need.

ZUMBA Toning blends body-sculpting techniques and specific ZUMBA moves into one calorie-burning, strength-training class. Weighted, maraca-like ZUMBA Toning Sticks are used to enhance rhythm and build strength.
 

Gentle Yoga For Seniors

Maureen has been teaching yoga locally for over 9 years.  Her main goal in this field is to help others breathe more fully, increase their balance and flexibility and reduce levels of stress in their lives.  She is also an acupressure practitioner (for both 2 and 4-leggeds), sound healing therapist and meditation instructor.  Sponsored by Blaine-Birch Bay Park and Recreation District.  $5 drop in each class.
